HUET TRAINING COURSE

Course Overview

CareFlight Safety Services is a quality assured organisation, offering nationally recognised courses for Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET). All course competencies meet the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and give graduates full accreditation upon completion (PMA OHS 214A).

Trainees develop hands-on experience and confidence using the latest technology in submerged helicopter simulators, and learn essential post-accident water survival techniques (life jacket and life raft training).

More than 3,000 trainees with backgrounds in aviation, marine, defence and emergency service industries graduate every year with CSS HUET accreditation, in Australia and overseas. The training focuses on both rotary (helicopter) and fixed wing (jet) aircraft and is specifically designed to heighten safety procedures, danger awareness and operational standards for flights over or near water.

Helicopter Underwater Escape Training has been shown to increase post-accident underwater survival by up to 250%.

The locations of our domestic courses include Thursday Island, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Other locations are available on a quote basis.

Delivery Method

The CSS HUET course is a one-day course combining in-depth theoretical and practical components. Each simulator can carry up to six students; two seated in the front cockpit area and up to four in the rear cabin. The front doors are hinged, with jettison facility, while the rear doors are sliding. Hard points are fitted to the floor of the rear cabin to simulate harness attachments and leads can be fitted to simulate intercom and headset connections.
